Pure sangiovese from Panzano, one day this will become a Chianti Classico.... Always one of my favorite wines from Tuscany, the 2020 Flaccianello is such as fine and fragrant wine, but built so solidly - the tannic structure in this vintage is exceptional, and will need significant time in bottle to come fully around. But the tannins are sweet and velvety, thick and abundant. Yet it's always the sapidity and salinity of Fontodi's wines that beguile the most. Length and depth are superlative. So pure, focused, concentrated and lengthy. Tasted October 2023.
