This is a fragrant barbera, ringing with crisp notes of fresh, tart fruit, both red and dark, including dark cherries, strawberries, and raspberries. The palate is tart and focussed, medium bodied and balanced, with fine tannins and dynamic acidity. The alcohol (14% abv per the label on the bottle) is well-integrated, while the long finish is pleasantly warming and infused with tart fruit. I would enjoy this wine over the next couple of years, while it is vibrant and vital. Tasted October 2025.
