Product Details
The older Colheita in the market now is the 2003 Colheita Tawny Port, which still has some red tints and signs of youth. This was bottled in 2023 after 20 years in barrel. 2003 was a very, very warm year, and they kept the wine for a very long time because they never felt the wine was ready; so, it was bottled later and with more complexity. But again, it still feels younger than the 20 year old, and it is creamy, with notes of candied orange peel. Time in bottle should continue the refinement and bring more elegance to the wine, even though you cannot tell it comes from a very warm year. Drink date: 2024-2064.
