Crua Chan is one of the must-tries in Gen del Alma's brief but very solid catalog. From their own vineyards in Gualtallary, this has the imprint of the wines from that area, influenced by the cool breezes of the Andes, but also by the altitude (it's about 1,400 meters above sea level) and by the fine sandy soils over calcium carbonate. And all of that shapes the red fruit, adds herbal notes, and carves the texture making the tannins chalky. This is one of the best versions of this Crua Chan, the one that seems to us to have a greater and deeper sense of place.
