A sleeping giant, the 2019 Rosso del Conte slowly evolves with a whiff of crushed violet, stone dust, incense and white smoke enshrouding a core of wild blueberry. The palate is soft and round, with juicy acidity and crisp berry fruits elevated by a hint of tangerine and spice. The 2019 maintains fantastic energy despite its youthfully structured state. Sweet tannins frame a lasting note of tart cherry that lingers for well over a minute. I followed the 2019 over the course of 24 hours and it only got better each time I checked in on it. Drinking window: 2026-2036.
