The golden-yellow 2018 Scheurebe Trockenbeerenauslese No 3 Zwischen den Seen opens with perfectly ripe peach and tropical fruit aromas on the piquant, lemon and grapefruit-scented nose. Perfectly round and subtle on the palate, this is a concentrated yet highly refined and elegant TBA with a long, intense and elegant finish. The wine is tight and fresh and you can't believe it was born in a terribly dry and hot year. Kracher picked the grapes at the perfect moment. Mango, papaya, grapefruit... this is a basket full of attractive fruits. The sweetness of 190 grams of residual sugar make this an age-worthy sweet wine that I would not serve before 2030/33.
