A smoking Crozes with real depth and density, the 2020 Crozes-Hermitage Nouvelère comes from more rocky, pebbly soils and older vines, and was aged two years in a mix of barrels and foudre. It reveals a deep ruby/plum hue as well as powerful aromatics of smoky black fruits, ground pepper, graphite, and roasted herbs. It's medium-bodied and has a great mid-palate, good concentration, and building, ripe tannins. This beauty is going to evolve nicely over the coming decade. Maturity: 2024-2034.
