Coteaux de Bourgignons (Burgundy Hillsides) is the largest region appellation in Burgundy, encompassing all the Bourgogne and Beaujolais vineyards. This is from a single site of less than one hectare at 230 metres. It shows good colour depth and a generous nose of leesy breadcrust, apple butter, nutmeg and toast. It is medium-full bodied, quite firm and warm - more structure and intensity than expected. There is also grip and minerality on the finish. The length is excellent. One of the best value wines in the 2023 Bellene line-up. Tasted March 2025
