Colio's Reserve merlot from an exceptional vintage in Niagara-on-the-Lake features generous and appealing perfume. A lush and fleshy incarnation, texturally appealing and approachable with memorable juiciness. The tannins offer a light grip and add volume to the palate. Notes of raspberry and black plum with cocoa and tobacco lingering on the finish of very good length. An honest and noteworthy expression of the grape variety picked at the peak of ripeness. A much-improved bottle than first tasted in January. Re-tasted June 2022. Gold Medal winner with a combined rating of 92 points at the 2022 National Wine Awards of Canada.
